Sumatra
Mandheling is a coffee known
for its body. Often used as
a component of espresso blends
for the base note this special
coffee easily stands on its own - especially
when it's been triple-picked
(the beans have been hand-picked over 3 times!) and only when the beans are at their most ripe and fruity state.
And although all Mandhelings
come from the northern province
of Sumatra, specifically the
Aceh region in West-Central Sumatra,
this coffee we roast is processed
with special attention by long-time coffee
trader M.P. Mountanos.
Sumatra coffees
are generally semi-washed and
when used in blends give body
and "earthiness" typically
associated with other Indonesian
coffees.
This bold full-bodied
